Buxton released
Jake Buxton and Mansfield Town have today parted company by mutual consent.
The defender told mansfieldtown.net: "I am very sad to leave the club after being here from the age of 13.
"I held talks with new boss Billy McEwan yesterday and expressed to him my desire to stay in the Football League."
He added: "Following that conversation, the club have agreed to let me go and I thank them for that."
The 23 year old, who graduated through our youth ranks, has made 174 first team appearances for us, and was made Club Captain for at the slender age of 21.
Said Chairman Andy Perry: "This decision has been reached amicably. We would like to thank Jake for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future."
