Defender Johnny Mullins has told mansfieldtown.net that he has rejected his latest contract offer and wants a move away from Field Mill.

The winner of the 'player of the season' award told mansfieldtown.net:  "There's one reason why I have turned down the contract - I want to play as high as I can.  I want to look back when my career has ended and know that I played at the highest possible level."

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, but I want to play in a higher division and I feel that now is the time to move on," he added.

We are looking to meet with Johnny and his agent to discuss a possible revised offer.
